The Maverick 12 ga. is light and short. The action is smooth, without loading or ejecting issues. Gonna work on a suitable sling addition. It is a real value shotgun for a bargain price.

Haven't took it out shooting yet. A little concern that one side of the shell lifter is not flush with the hole. Hopefully it's a non issue. Other than that it looks and feels good. Wasn't expecting it to be some top dollar shotgun. As usual gunprime was a breeze to deal with. Shipping was fast. No issues. Ordered from them several times before and same deal.

Like: Its a Maverick 88 that I later added a 1-3/4 shell Opsol adapter, allowing 8+1 capacity.
Con: The price I paid (my choice/fault) was double than pre-panic.

I researched my shotgun purchase for home defense. The Maverick 88 was at the top of my list, right behind the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870. I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I’m not as satisfied with the inflated price I paid because of scarcity. But, supply and demand.
I found this shotgun on GunPrime. Much to my surprise, it was available through them. A little higher in price than I wanted to pay, but it also was in stock which was rare for this shotgun. Even the gun shop I sent it to in order to pick it up were surprised it was out there. I haven’t been able to shoot it yet, but I am looking forward to it. I am most impressed with GunPrime though in that my order was delivered within 24 hours! Now that is service!!
I just recently purchased my Mossberg Maverick 88 and l love it. I'm glad I bought this shotgun, it feels good in my hands. My wife loves it as much as I do. Haven't been to the range with it yet, but I can't wait.
Love the shotgun...exactly what I wanted.
As a first time buyer, however, I would have appreciated more assistance... recommendations for local licensed dealers, having the seller contact the local dealer directly, etc. Process was not well explained, I was uncomfortable, and almost cancelled as a result.
